Race #2
Week #18

So here we are at the season finale and where did the year go? Dan Osanitsch was name the “Rider Of The Week” for his efforts in the first race. Danny named Derek Fantano as his favorite rider.

So staying for the second race on this hot summer afternoon were 143 riders. The NBL Race program split them into 43 motos and they treated us to some fun BMX excitement.

The first group of the day was the three riders in the 13 year old Expert class. Danny Delisle made it a perfect afternoon for himself by sweeping the class today with double wins. Chris Pannullo (Fuscos Used Auto Parts) sure made him work for it though with a solid second and Ian Dickinson was third.

Chris Therriault also was perfect in the 12 Expert class as he kept both Jon Zeiner and Dougy Cable behind him. Jon and Doug traded 2nds with Jon edging out Doug for the second overall.

Most of the motos in the second race were won by the same person in each class both rounds. Fin Milton did it in the 7X / 7N class with Matt Webb and Derek Fantano second and third.

Nicole Milton did the deed in 17 & over woman’s class with Christine Grysbek second.

The 14 yr old Girls class was won by Jayna Roy with Jessy Maher, obviously focusing on the boys she will meet when school starts this week second and Carli Arnold third.

Ashley Oshiro had it all to herself in the 12-13 Girls class as Samantha Lumbra was just touching the gate.

Another main in the 10 year old Girls class. Chloe Arnold won all of her motos as did Kyly Milton. This would be the same main event show-down as we saw in the first race. The results were the same although Chloe was right on Kyly’s rear wheel and actually got along side of her as they crossed the stripe with Kyly winning by about half a bikes length. Chloe was second and Chloe Bourgoin was third.

Gianna Spina beat Ashley Anderson for another win in the 9 yr old Girls class although Ashley was very close.

Hope Maher topped Ashley Jasensky (X-Treme Marine) for the win in the 8 yr old Girls class. Chloe Lee (Mirror Polishing and Plating) did the same to Azra Milton in 5-7 Girls.

In 16 & over Expert racing Pauly Maher showed that he still had some speed skills as he was the winner. Jim Ferris edged out Jason Chamis for the second spot.

Austin Cyr completed his two race sweep of the 15 Expert class with another perfect. Jason Kellogg was second and Angela Therriault showed she can race against the boys as she finished third ahead of Alex Hubbard.

Shawn McAuley won the 14X / 15N class with Dave Lamb then Chris Pfeffer (George’s Music Center) in tow.

Dylan Vadney and Drew Scheinost traded wins in the 14 Novice class with Drew winning the tie-breaking second round for the overall win. Samir Licul was third.

In a surprise move Michaela Groves entered the 13 Novice class as she really had no other 13 year old girls to race. Well, Wes Reel won the class but Machaela, who finished 2nd in the five rider set of motos made him work all the way around. What an eye opener that was. In the third spot was Trevor Fox (Wild Side Tattoo).

In the 12 yr old Novice class Connor Arnold was again perfect completing his Aug 29th sweep. R.J. Miville had a solid second with the third spot going to Alexus Doty, another girl who jumped into the boys class just to shake them up, Alexus did keep two boys behind her. Bet they had a fun day at school!

In the 10X / 11 Nov class Nick Cote” was the big winner. Second went to Isabella Sanchez, yup, another girl in the boy’s classes with third going to Jon Moura.

A main event in the 10 Nov / 9X class and Nick Oshiro, who finished second in his motos, pulled off the main event win. Steven Hull was second with Brandon Galeski (Gold Seal Roofing) finishing third.

A full gate of competitors in the 8x / 8n / 9n class with Zach Ferris scoring a perfect in the class. Hunter Zeiner was second with Garrett Fosbrook third.

In the 40-44 cruiser class a sleeper was brought in, in the name of Len Ferris. He truly was asleep as his bike appeared to be trained to ride around the track. Greg Fantano won the first moto but William Scheinost won the tie-breaking second moto for the overall win.
Ferris was credited with winning the next moto on the track before the scorers finally realized he was in the previous moto.

Gina Layman, Denise Classey and Therese Campbell was the finishing order in 35 & over woman’s Cruiser action.

Garrick Yanosky was back to his old self in 35-39 Cruiser as he looked like he stepped it up a notch since the first race. Garrick was unbeatable with Greg Sloan and Erik Maher watching him ride into the sunset.

Jayna Roy and Hope Maher were the two ladies in 12 & under / 13-14 Girls Cruiser with Jayna crossing the stripe first.

R.J. Miville and Pete Franolich finished in that order in the 11-12 cruiser class.

Nick Cote’ was solo on the track in 9-10 Cruiser as Lane Maher was just touching the gate.

Another main event in the 17 & over Rookie class. Matt Bennett and Ted Faulise finished 1-2 again with Sam Colon finishing third.

Liam Stone was steady as a rock in the 15-16 Rookie class with a big win. Trevor Simmons was our second place finisher and the third sport was earned by Gian Gonzelez.

Darren Zimmerman (David J. Mahoney Painting) and Kyle Brock duked it out in 14 Rookie with Darren coming out on top.

Jamie Lamb beat Evan Benis in the 13 Rookie class after Brandon Hulin decided to hit the road and not race.

Austin Andrew and Jeff Vadney were the only two riders in the 12 Rookie class and it would be Andrews going home with the first place gold.

A full gate though definitely was the feature of the 11 Rookie class. Julien Roberge would edge out Nick Bates for the overall win earning him Rider of the Week honors for this race. The third spot went to Ian Henry.

Dale Doty (Connecticut Wells) swept the 10 Rookie class by coming out on top in this race as well as the first race earlier today. Second went to a much improved Frankie Buckley with the third place award going to Connor Colarco.

Ethan Russell Ward was again perfect in the 9 Rookie class with Jason Lee (Mirror Polishing and Plating) second while Nick Piper was finishing third in the big main event.

A full gate of six riders were in the 8 yr old Rookie class and it saw Danny Osanitsch win it again. This kid never won a race before he clipped in and now I don’t think he has lost one since. Seth Norton settled for second with Nick Petrino (Today’s birthday boy) third.

Ian Fosbrook had to bounce back from a second place moto finish to win the 7 Rookie class. Torin Ellis was second and Ryan Hayes third.
In the 6 yr old Rookie class Aman Egan just ran away with it. The second place trophy went to Lucas North while Jacob Morello was finishing third.

Finally the 5 & under main event would see Sam (The Man) DeGrange (Bertera Chrysler / Jeep Inc.) winning yet another one. Robbie Webb was second and it would be Anthony Starr Bennett our third place finisher.
